Infidelity (Cheating) In The Tarot

Tarot Cards - Infidelity

If you see one or more of the following cards in your reading, things may not appear as they seem on the surface. The top cards for cheating are:

The Moon
A card of secrecy and deception, of things happening under the light of the moon, shrouded in shadows and darkness. It can denote clandestine affairs, someone may be trying to pull the wool over your eyes. Beware of the evasiveness of others, and do not take everything you hear as the complete truth.

Seven of Swords
A card of deception. Some could be lying to you, you need to watch (very carefully) the behaviour of others around you. This card sees someone 'getting away' with something they have done behind your back. It is the card of sneaking around and underhand tactics.

Three of Cups (Reversed)
A jovial card when upright, the reversed meaning brings hedonistic qualities into play. Excessive drinking, taking drugs and indulging in illicit sexual endeavours can be denoted by this card. The cheating will nearly always be coupled with some kind of substance abuse (addiction).

Lovers (Reversed)
An illicit affair is denoted, but in this instance there may be a powerful connection between two people who cannot (or shouldn't) be together. Sometimes it could bring a destructive element to the relationship (especially if in conjunction with The Devil card)

The Devil
A tempestuous card bringing an addictive personality in its wake. All forms of debauchery fall under this cards meaning. Its influence is destructive, any affair denoted by this card will be unhealthy and all consuming. Lies are also indicated also.A strong sexual attraction element surrounds this card, there is recklessness and irresponsibility abound.

Nine of Swords

Guilt and worry about an indiscretion that may have occurred are brought to the fore when you see this card. It brings a sense of foreboding and fear of painful issues which may arise as a consequence. This could be the card of the guilty conscience, and the fear for the repercussions of being found out. It may bring guilt at having to cause pain and suffering to another. The worry may keep you awake at night.

Three of Swords

This card brings a love triangle into the reading (especially if in conjunction with The Lovers). Someone may be having an affair, or you may be considering embarking on one yourself. There is definitely a third party within the mix, a Court Card in the reading may shed some light on who this person may be.

The Magician (Reversed)

He is the silver tongued manipulator, capable of telling lies to further his own ends. He may be charming on the surface, but he is capable of great deception and dishonesty.  When he falls in conjunction with the King of Swords (Reversed), this will confirm that you are dealing with a liar and should tread very carefully.

Queen of Cups (Reversed)

This card could represent  'the other woman' in an affair, or even a 'lady of the night' This is a narcissist or an emotional vampire type individual, someone who doesn't care about anyone but herself. She may have issues with addiction or emotional instability herself. She might be someone you know who is jealous of you.

Two of Coins

Whilst the coins are usually indicators of monetary matters, in a romantic reading it can suggest someone who is successfully balancing two situations simultaneously. Depending on the surrounding cards, this could denote be the juggling of two separate relationships. This card also has a fun element attached to it, which may indicate there is a 'player' in your midst.

Nine of Cups (Reversed)

A card of selfish self indulgence and taking good fortune for granted. With this card comes flattery and insincerity. Someone may have duped you and are now feeling pretty smug about it! This is the superficial lover with a materialistic outlook on life, all that really matters to them is self gratifying their own needs.

Ten of Swords

This is a card of being 'stabbed in the back' as the picture denotes, It tells of an act of betrayal by someone you consider a trusted friend or lover. In the aftermath, there will be much pain and destruction which may take a while to recover from. But it will be followed by a period of calm after the storm, where you will be able to begin again in a totally new direction.
